Oliver Pearson

My name is Oliver Pearson, I am a journalism student in my second year of study at St. Thomas. I was born in Fredericton and now live in New Maryland, a small municipality just outside the city. I attended St. Thomas right out of high school with the intention of majoring in criminology but my interest in writing and sports has led me to journalism. I have been involved with various sports my entire life but the ones I have enjoyed the most are hockey and football. I am a big sports fan and I like to keep up to date with everything that is going on in the world of sports. My favourite sports teams are the Pittsburgh Steelers and Montreal Canadiens. 

My journalistic focus is on sports, primarily hockey, football, and basketball. I try to write as much as I can whether it is for STU Athletics or our school’s newspaper, the Aquinian. I cover the STU women’s hockey team, primarily writing game recaps and conducting post-game interviews. I have just started writing for the Aquinian this year and I have enjoyed my time so far.
