Jasmine Curley

Hi eveyone! My name is Jasmine Curley, and I am a second year English and Journalism major. During my time so far at St Thomas I have joined the Mental Health Society, done a theatre showcase and planning on becoming more involved with the Aquinian. I moved to Fredericton from Saint John in 2021 to start my education after taking a gap year. After I graduate and get my BA, I hope to go onto getting my BED as I would love to become a Middle School teacher.

When I was in Middle School, I used to always carry a notebook and in every spare time I’d have I would write stories in it. In every English class I’d hope that would be the day we would write a short story. I knew I always liked making these stories and sharing my creativeness and ideas around me, however it wasn’t until grade 12 when I enrolled in a writing class and on one of the last days, she told me she couldn’t wait to read my stories one day, that was the time I knew I wanted to go into schooling for writing and take a bigger step in my writing and English. Fun fact, before grade 12 I was sure I was going to be a vet.

I enjoy reading and am currently writing a book I’m hoping to get published! I also really enjoy photography and going on walks and finding new locations. Even better when I’m able to combine it and being able to find new trails and taking photos of the scenery and then being able to read and/or work on my book! I also enjoy bullet journaling, painting and playing guitar.
