Taylor Swift fandom hits St. Thomas as a student recreates the award-winning All Too Well short film

Taylor Swift has been one of the most popular and highest streamed artists in the world since she made her debut album in 2006, and her fame and influence has only grown since.

Now in 2022, Swift has over 80 million monthly listeners, and that’s just on Spotify alone. She is constantly surpassing records, and her influence continues to expand even further.

With St. Thomas University now offering a Taylor Swift themed communications course that discusses not only her music, but also her marketing, it gives students the freedom to express their passion towards the artist in many unique ways.

In this class, Chloe Little was tasked with remaking Swift’s famous All Too Well 15-minute short film using friends as the actors and local areas to recreate the scenes.

While most students would fear or dread doing an assignment of this caliber, especially during the busiest time of year for students, Little was more than up to the task and immediately began casting for the two main roles scheming where in the city of Fredericton, N.B. she would film.

The enthusiasm for the project is what gave Little her motivation to produce a high-quality video.

“When my professor told me I was allowed to do this project I was really excited because it’s such an iconic music video and I mean the short film itself is something that I really enjoy watching and being able to have the creative ability to do it myself and my own version with my own friends, like, it was really exciting, and I was pretty pumped,” says Little.

The story told in the original All Too Well song and short film by Taylor Swift is the story of a relationship between a man and a woman with a nine-year age difference. The woman being in her early twenties as he’s entering his 30’s causes fundamental issues in the relationship that spirals into fighting, gaslighting, and many other toxic habits that leads to their inevitable breakup.

In the original, Sadie Sink plays the lead role, but for Little’s rendition, Jasmine Warrington is cast to bring the project to life.

Despite having minimal acting experience in her past, Little had full faith that Warrington could do the character justice and have fun in the process.

“I was happy when Chloe asked me to help her with her assignment, as it gave me an opportunity to see what I can do acting, as it’s something I haven’t tried before and overall, it was a lot of fun,” says Warrington

Little had the filming plan laid out for the small cast and got to work immediately, using locations such as Odell Park, downtown Fredericton, St. Thomas University campus, and many more places.

After days of filming and editing, the project was completed, and Little was very proud of the work she had done to portray the popular short film.
