Indoor-Wildlfe

Justin Soodhoo moved to Canada from Trinidad and Tobago when he was 14 years old. Justin has been able to embrace the Canadian culture very well but something always was missing.

This year, Justin found out what was missing all along. He has always been connected to nature, particularly with plants and animals. When it comes to animals, nothing interests him more than fish. He always kept large aquariums of fish as a child and decided that this was the year that he was going to change the setup of his room to include these fish.

Justin was also new to winter when he came to Canada and he was not prepared for the snow. He saw how the snow covered the ground and he did not hate the snow but rather he hated that it covered up all the greenery and the nature around. This is what inspired his love for indoor plants. He has gathered a lot of plants from different places and has kept them thriving indoors.

The collection of fish is also quite diverse as he keeps fish, snails, shrimp and crayfish in his tanks. His lights that he keeps in the room are very colorful but they are used to give the plants the right quantity of light so they can photosynthesize and continue to grow. The lights are those specific colors of purple, pink and blue since that is what lights the plants absorb in order to grow.

Justin has no regrets over choosing to keep his plants indoors and keep a few fish tanks. He finds the indoor plants also remove the hustle and bustle of planting into the ground and they are also easier to water and manage since they are kept away from the external elements like the rain and snow.

Justin does not have any aspirations of becoming a home decorator but he just wants to be able to enjoy the vibrancy of the space he created which is good for both him and the life that he is keeping inside his bedroom.
