Fear and Trembling in Fredericton

Every Time I Die played their first show in Fredericton back in October at the Capital Complex. The Buffalo, New York metal-core outfit consisting of Keith Buckley, Jordan Buckley and Andy Williams has been together for for close to 20 years now along with recent members Stephen Micciche and Clayton Holyoak, so it’s impressive and somewhat disappointing that they’ve only played Fredericton for the first time this year.

Touring for their album Low Teens (which can be heard below), which was released last year, Every Time I Die was supported by sludge metal band Hollow Earth and beat down hardcore band Knocked Loose. All three bands brought a totally different vibe to the stage, every single one heavy in its own way. The crowd ate up every riff the bands had to offer and were moshing and singing along all night.

Every Time I Die, though supporting a new album, played all their hits from each album they’ve released over the past two decades including The New Black, We’rewolf, Apocalypse Now and Then, Fear and Trembling and It Remembers. This was probably one of the smallest stages the band has played in a long time, considering they normally play in larger clubs or on large festival stages such as the Vans Warped Tour. The five members somehow manged to cram themselves onto what was probably a 10 x 8 stage with all their gear, however that didn’t stop them from putting on a good show. Singer, Keith Buckley, was crowd surfing and giving fans the mic to sing along for the whole set.

This was probably my fifth time seeing the band and needless to say they brought the ruckus like only they can despite their lack of space to do guitar flips or whatever crazy antics they normally do. If you have never had the chance to see Every Time I Die live, do yourself a favor and buy a ticket to see them as soon as humanly possible next time they come to town, because this show sold out the morning tickets went on sale way back in July.

Until next time they come to town, you can follow them on InstagramTwitter, Facebook, Spotify and just about every other social media platform. If you’re into pro-wrestling, I’d also suggest checking out guitarist Andy Williams body slam people in Smash Wrestling.
