LUG Mighty Ducks
Grant Harvey Center- The Lug Mighty Ducks are battling to get their first win of the season.
The LUG Mighty Ducks (White and Green Jerseys) played their fourth game of the season. The LUG Ducks are currently going into the game 0-3 and are missing a lot of key players from the team. Due to the lack of players, Isaiah Buyting #34 had to drop back on defence for the entire game. The game started off strong for the LUG Ducks as they come out firing scoring the first goal of the game. This is also the first time they have lead a game, but that lead did not last long as the Pelicans come firing back with one of their own. The LUG Ducks manage to sneak another by moments later and keep the lead for a solid 5 minutes before collapsing.
Going into the second period the Pelicans came out flying scoring 2 more in 10 minutes. making it a 5-2 game. The ducks held their own for until the clock stopped at the end of the second.
The puck drops and the third period begins. The Ducks are playing smart hockey, but are not able to get any bounces unlike the Pelicans who sneak 2 more in making it a 7-2 game. With 6 minutes left the Ducks decide to pick it up and score 2 more, but cannot produce anything else as the whistles blow and the score bound sounds the buzzer. The Ducks fall 0-4 on the season.
“Well I had to step up in the absence of a couple missing defensemen. I think it was good game, couple rough spots such as players running into each other, definitely a minus, I think the team played good. Not good individual performance. The team came out to compete tonight. “
“I think I could definitely work on my positioning, I got pucks deep, but definitely positing. For my first time out on D not a bad performance, definitely a B performance definitely not a A+ but we will work on that.”
Even with the loss, the majority of the players on the team believed it was a good game and a good battle. The whole team agreed on this being their best game of the season so far.
The Lug Mighty Ducks play their next game on the 6th of December. The team hopes to pull off a win before the 5 week break they receive from the league.
Isaiah said that “Over this 5 week break, I will be playing some pick-up hockey in hope I don’t get rusty for our first game back. I need to be on by best game so I can perform at the level I need to play at for this team”
