Rescue Dogs Finding Their Forever Homes In Atlantic Canada

More and more people in New Brunswick are turning to rescue shelters when looking for their new furry companions. People seem to feel more pleased knowing they have saved a pup’s life.

The problem with finding rescue dogs in N.B. is that there aren’t many shelters in the province compared to others. But, rescue shelters seem to be expanding in the U.S.

The good thing about this for the people in Atlantic Canada is that several shelters, including Anna’s Angels, looks here for families to adopt their rescued dogs.

Anna’s Angels is a non-profit organization located in Texas. It’s owned by a women named Anna and her family. There passion is to give every dog a loving home.

Karen and Mike Bell bought their new pup, Rudy, earlier this month. “One thing i really like about Anna’s Angels is that they really care about their animals.” The Bell’s feel that Rudy was very well treated while in the organizations care.

The team rescues dogs all over the country from kill shelters. Treating them of any diseases or injuries they may have and then brings them back to Texas.

Anna immediately uploads the dogs pleasing profile on their Facebook page; which is their main source of contact. Each dog gets around one-hundred applications. While the team chooses the prefect home for the pup, they place them in a foster home. Their foster homes are either in Texas or in Atlantic Canada.

Once the family has been chosen, Anna sends them daily updates on how their new dog is doing.

“From start to finish they kept sending me updates while I was waiting for the process to go through,” said Morgan Donovan, who just recently bought her second dog from Anna’s Angels for the second time.

They bring a van load of dogs to the boarder in St. Stephen bi-weekly. Once the dogs go with the families, Anna then, continues to stay in contact. They like to make sure both humans and the dogs are happy.

“Once we got him and brought him home everything went so smoothly,” said Donovan
