Bowling Hall’s Grand Opening Strikes Out
FREDERICTON- The Drome’s grand opening had the building packed from morning to midnight, marking an excellent start for the bowling hall.
The event featured Artist Lindsey Mackay, an impressionist, who was live-painting the opening.
“It’s hard to catch the live action, but it’s been a lot of fun,” said Lindsey, who faced the challenge of capturing the mood of the night.
The event featured all-day happy hour pricing, so enthusiasts could participate in some tipsy bowling.
The Drome’s revamped look brings nightlife back to Fredericton’s North side, and they’ve just brought in a new way to keep customers safe while they enjoy their night.
Through a partnership with Checker Cab, bowlers are offered 5$ vouchers for a safe ride home. They also get 25% off their meal and a free coffee the next morning if they leave their car at the venue, instead of driving home themselves.
Manager Peter Allen oversaw the grand opening, and was happy with the turnout of the night.
“It’s just good wholesome fun, and we just wanted to bring bowling back,” said Allen.
The radio station UP. 19 broadcasted the grand opening live from 1-5, but they kept the opening going until the AM, with an overwhelming turnout.
Bowler Jessica Johnson came out with her friends and had an excellent time. she says she will definitely be returning.
“So far so good we’re just having some drinks, and bowling, and the food smells great and there’s a good turnout here tonight!” Said Johnson.
The Drome will continue to host events, including collecting donations for Capital City Compassion, a local nonprofit looking to gather living essentials to go towards Fredericton’s homeless association.
They’re sure to stay the Kingpin of bowling, so don’t miss your chance to strike!
