Before the lecture began every member of the public read their handouts.
Emily Bell, the director of the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and a Guardian columnist.
Students had some questions and concerns towards the speaker.
Not only students participate also members of the public.
Bell interacted with the public by answering those questions and concerns.
The event was full with people from teachers, to students and regular public that came that evening to express their interest in the lecture.
Emily Bell was thanked with a gift for her speech. Right next to her the CBC representative who came with her team to record the lecture for broadcast by CBC Radio’s Ideas.
A first year student from the Journalism Program came to thank her for such powerful words.
The reception after the event showed many happy faces and the friendly atmosphere was the best way to end the night.
