Christmas Fundraiser For Cancer Research Raises Over $11,000
Dooly’s bar and billiards held their 3rd annual Christmas fundraiser on Saturday the 1st of December with over 30 local vendors attending to sell their crafts and fundraise money for the Atlantic Cancer Research Institute in Moncton, New Brunswick.
The event raised $2,357.40 which The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency agreed to match by timing the total by four. That meant that $ 11,787 were raised all together for cancer research. Dooly’s will continue to raise money until the end of the year in hopes of raising the tally further.
The event was run by Emily Rioux, a manager at the Dooly’s on Prospect Street in Fredericton. She founded the event in 2015 to help contribute to Cancer research in New Brunswick and has continued to run the event every year since its first three years ago.
